Yes hard to believe but so far the changes made to the running game have been working out. Lacy was one yard shy of a 100 yard game so just on e yard shy of three 100 yard games in a row which is amazing when what was it like 42 games in a row with out one?

Packers come in at 5th in rushing yards per game with 141 yards per game and second in yards per carry at 5.3 which is second to Philly at 5.6

Was nice to see the defense put a full game together and was nice hearing Neals name quite a bit. The Packers D is underrated. Many of the football experts are saying the Packer Defense will be the problem this year as far as what holds them back as they must not have noticed the changes that have been made. Perry was called out a few times as well. I personally feel the defense will surprise many people this year

Defensively, up front GB is looking pretty darn good. We had what, 3-4 linebackers go down today, so who know what that situation looks like. But it's our secondary I'm still not sold on. Without Hayward, this unit is still susceptible to giving up too many yardage plays, especially on third downs. If there's any area of improvement for this defense, I think that's the area.

A big running play in back to back games of over 50 yards... that will get the defenses attention on game tape. Running game is looking good, love how Lacy runs hard.

Franklin fumble may have got him in the dog house which is a bummer... need that quick back in backfield to surprise the defenses with change of pace... do not want to see Cobb back there if have someone else which Franking can be that player if he does not fumble.

2 fumbles in 2 games, he's definitely in the dog house. he's young though, they'll make him learn or he won't play by anything other than default.

not just two games. He has had a total of 16 carries and 2 fumbles. I hope he's picked out a collar and leash cause he's gonna be in the dog house for a while

In looking at more detailed stats the Packers are top 5 in passing offense, rushing offense and rushing defense. The only thing we need to step up on is passing defense and that should improve some with injured players returning

The only team in the league where we are top 5 in passing and top 5 in rushing so a bit more balanced this year. The running on Sunday brought safeties up to help stop the run which allowed deep balls to Jones and Jordy Nelson

Im not much of a stat guy but your GB offense looks human. Top 5 in two category,s but the killer instinct or something is not there. Seems like a good offense but below standards in GB of the last 3 years.

Agreed. Plus points is what matters, not yards.

There's no question the offense isn't as potent as we've seen in the past, and part of the reason is that GB isn't just relying on the big pass play any longer. They've truly committed to the run, which is eating up more time on the clock, and the big, quick strikes aren't being attempted nearly as often. Personally, I see this as progress, because the more GB gets the running game going, the more opportunities in the passing game should open up.

And sure, points might be more important than yards, but "winning games" is more important than points. Maybe GB isn't scoring as many TD's as in previous years, but that doesn't matter if they're getting a solid running game well established, and winning games!

Top 5 in points/game too and that's after facing the 7,9,13 ranked defenses in ppg on the road so far.

I find it funny that for years we have heard from Bear fans that we have no running game and that is what you need when the weather gets bad at the end of the season. We have been told that we need to grind out wins to go far in the playoffs.

Then once we develop a run game along with a much better defense that is currently 3rd in run defense with an improving pass defense that will get better as the season goes on with injured players getting back that we now get criticized that we don't have the quick strike killer instinct

This is comical

Packers are more balanced team now... they may not look much like prior teams, but if they could score inside the red zone with TDs their scoring would be higher than prior years.

Packers will need to grind out some wins with Cobb and potentially Jones on sideline... but if running game continues, Packers could be in very good position come playoff time.

Defense the same... Clay and Hayward did not play last game and defense looked good until 4th and 21 play. When Packers can get more players back, defense could continue to improve.

Packers need to grind out some wins upcoming and I think they can do it.

.

Actually need to say higher than 2011. It still is slightly higher than 2012 and 3 points higher than 2010.

I like how the offense is looking other than red zone offense and settling for FGs.

:agree: and that play action fake and 64 yard TD toss to Nelson shows what our early season commitment to the run is going to do for us down the road. We are 5 games into the season...those plays will be there more and more as the season progresses.
