When you were a kid did you think you were bad luck at the games you attended? While the Cardinals have been a mainstay in the 2000's there was a big gap in the 90's when they were pretty bad. From 1992-1999 the Cardinals placed better than 3rd only once. Even when Sosa and Big Mac were juicing baseball back into relevancy the Cardinals were sub .500.

Did anyone else actually believe with conviction they were terrible luck when attending your team's game as a kid?

The Astros were just as good at sucking with me or without me.

I'm good luck for my teams.

Had something like a 12 game winning streak going for the Tigers, until I went to the game Zimmerman started when Cleveland destroyed the rest of his season. (Didn't wear my lucky tie though. My mistake.)

Back on a two game win streak now.

Lions are on a six game win streak, when I'm in attendance.

And my Broncos haven't lost in nearly 15 years when my butt is on a metal bench.

Id pay me to go to games.

Loved those cards teams from 92 -99. Smug card fans. I don't even have to be at the games.
Some times when I pick a team..they don't win.
I got the indians as winning this series. Got them as a lock! Can't miss! For shore!!

No, I am not that arrogant and self centered to think that I could alter a team's fate by attending their games. But I did think I was responsible for my parent's divorce and possibly the deaths of John Lennon and people on the Space Shuttle Challenger.

Not baseball related but one of my best girlfriends played college basketball and every time I went to a game they lost... With the exception of about 3 times (out of about 50) so yeah, I did think I was bad luck

I don't think I'm bad luck, haven't had that problem.

In the 90s, when the Indians were always in the playoffs, I would get superstitious. If they won, then I would wear the same hat and jersey/shirt, the next game. If they lost, I would wear something completely different.

When I was a kid, I assumed I was gay because I loved jacking it to Elton John songs, but after I met some good people on t'Hoop, I realized you can do a lot of gay shit and still be straight if you don't make eye contact.

When I was a kid, I asked my Dad if Olivia Newton John was Elton John's kid.

(I should have stayed on the farm.
I should have listened to my old man.)

Wrong.

By definition, if you haven't made eye contact, it's not "gay shit".

Just because you are paranoid, it doesn't mean they are not watching you.
