Been using speedtest.net for years.

My home connection is ping 18, 176mbps down, and 23mbps up. Comcast X1 package. Frankly, there isn't that much I do that sees the benefit of that speed. The sites I visit aren't anywhere near serving at that speed anyway.

This is more than enough speed for anything I do online. My package also comes with PowerBooost which increases the initial speed by a third on large download files. I only pay for the mid tier ISP package. My speed has doubled in the last year while paying basically the same price, not counting the usual yearly rate increase of a couple dollars for the entire Cox package. 350 GB total data with free wifi hotspot at home that doesn't count towards the data plan.

We have AT&T's snail-paced Uverse, so our speed is pathetic. We're trying to get Comcast to bury a cable from across the street, but that's a whole other thread of ass-pain.

Download speed: 6.10 Mbps
Upload speed: 1.98 Mbps

That's still better than century links DSL in our area. While the DL speed is twice that, the upload speed is less than 1/3 of that (800k). More DL is great for streaming, downloading, and lots of other things, but if you have gamers in the house that pathetic upload speed will kill you.

Was ready to dump Comcast before they started, but my wife wouldn't settle for the horrid speed offered by Uverse. So the cable is in and set up.

Now we're getting around 60Mbps download, and around 8Mbps upload. She did get them to give us two free months, because of all the ass-pain of waiting two extra months for installation.

I get about 60 down and 10 up.

I wish I had more up, the down is fine the majority of time.

The up is going to be more critical as people use the cloud for backup...it's one reason I backup to a removable USB drive still. The cloud is just too damn slow, especially if doing a full backup.

I have CentryLink. They suck. I have modern day dial up at 1.5 mbps. A fucking joke. I heard that Windows 10 download is 3.5GB's. That will take me 7 hours to download.

Yea. My house is two blocks from high speed 20+ mbps. It's been this way for 10 years. Everytime I see a CenturyLink commercial...I get a bad case of turrets and can't stop cursing them out.
