What do you think of my Verlander trade?

Sounds great in theory, but we'd really need to know how many keepers and how many teams to gauge the pick value. Also who are you losing as a keeper to make room for Verlander?

But most important, are you contending for the title this year?

Its a 14 team league, points.

We are possibly gonna be able to keep 3 players and I am all in this year going for the Championship. I know Verlander has struggled at times, Do you guys think it was worth trading the picks?

Philabuster knows more about this stuff than I do, but if you're going for it all this year, I like it. And losing Danks is pretty meaningless, IMO.

Well you're definitely all-in if you only have 3 keepers. Ouch!
Big, bold trade to try and win it all. I like it. Took balls! Nobody can fault you for that.
I think Verlander is going to help you. I'd imagine if your team is good, you won't keep him in your top 3 though.

In theory it is a good move, but I just don't trust Verlander right now. You are giving what amounts to a 5th and a 9th round pick, which should net you a keeper calibur player. I don't think JV is that.

In a points league, he is not going to hurt you, but that is a heavy price to pay in future picks for a player whose short term future is pretty uncertain.
