Game Thread: Week 8, Los Angeles Rams @ Houston Texans, NRG Stadium, Sunday, 10/31/21, 10:00 AM PDT

By their own admission and after a sloppy game against the Lions and Jared Goff, the Rams head to NRG Stadium in Houston to take on the Texans. This game is an early one. Like most teams, the Rams are coming into this game with some players nicked-up with injuries but for the most part, we are relatively healthy and the Rams have weathered the adversity that comes about this time of the year to be 6-1 on the year. We should come into this game with some lessons learned especially on STs and our Defense and Offense have to start faster than the the last two games. We cannot take this bunch of Texans lightly because of the NFL adage of: "On any given Sunday". We shall see everyone here on the Game Thread as usual.

Here is where we stand on the newest of injuries as Whitworth is in the mix as is Rochelle, Sebastian Joseph-Day, and a few others. We have vewry good back-ups at this point so we should be in good shape.

Titans have beaten the Bills and Chiefs the past 2 weeks. That is not going to be an easy game with the Rams bad run D trying to stop beast mode 2.0

Yea ALR. The Rams D are going to have to really focus and prepare for that run-based offense and the Rams offense is going to face a decent D of their own. Pass-happy boy had better incorporate the notion that he is going to have to run the ball a little more than just an after-thought that he has been getting away with playing these weaker teams. Vrabel has built a beast-mode team and they can be a real bunch of marauders in their own right. The D-line is going to face a bunch of big, bad O-lineman including Saffold who is still with the Titans. Our LBs and secondary have to face a beast in RB Derrick Henry at 240lbs. Could be a tough game!

Yea, me too, Raheem. This kid has come along nicely even though I thought the pick was a joke. He has earned the starting spot and I suspect that he'll make many of us who didn't particularly thing the Young trade was very smart forget Young as a Rams starting inside LB.

Saw this article and it has become pretty useless to attempt to destroy our deep stuff with a 2-high cover scheme. Stafford makes excellent on-the-fly reads and adjusts quickly. I also saw that it is pretty useless to try and blitz Stafford especially with his very quick no-look outlet pass he has introduced to McVay and the Rams O.

The Cardinals get their first loss on Thursday Night Football. With the prospect of losing JJ Watt to shoulder surgery, a very late INT thrown by Murray sealed the game as Green Bay rides into town and beats them at State Farm Stadium. We had better not take the Texans too lightly as we now have a chance to stay tied with the Cardinals going into Week 9.

Whitworth and Joseph-Day are out for the Texans game. Noteboom and Gaines are in. Maybe A-Rob will be playing alot more snaps. McVay and company better not take the Texans too lightly or we may be behind the Cardinals again.
