Week 4: MNF - Giants at Vikings

Good match-up of similar type teams... NY probably having the better offense at this point, and Minny having the better defense.

Some keys to the game, IMO, include:

- Can the Giants handle the Minnesota pass rush? Getting after the passer is a huge strength of the Vikings and O-line is a weak(er) point for the Giants.

- Can the Giants stop shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers? Minny enters the game with the best turnover ratio in football, the Giants enter the game with the worst.

In addition, Giants have some injury concerns particularly in their secondary. After a third key DB went down last week... our defense (which had been playing quite well) went to sh!t vs. the Redskins. I'll be keeping an eye on the progress of DRC, Eli Apple and Darian Thompson... Giants need at least 2 of these 3 guys to suit up, IMO.

The Giants oline is very good. Vikes need to keep Eli in 3rd and long so they can try to mix-up the blitz on 3rd down.

I have a feeling the Vikings offense is going to need to do more than score 1 TD this week. They need to take advantage of any mistakes the Giants make and take advantage of any good field position.

Giants are officially all messed up in the secondary.

- FS Darian Thompson is OUT
- Back-up FS Nat Berhe is OUT
- CB Eli Apple is doubtful
- CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is questionable

Giants have been working out street free agents at the safety position.... even giving some of their offensive guys reps at the position, because depth has been destroyed.

I'm nervous for this game. Vikings are predicted to win by almost everyone. It seems like everytime that has happened during my Viking fandom, they've shit the bed. The old way of thinking is hard to get over.

It was my scheduled night off, but a guy on my team has infant twins and mom isn't feeling well.... and I'm the kind of guy that never says no. We're also on a roll, taking 36.5 out of 40 points last week, and 34 of 40 the previous week.

At least the game will be on at the lanes.
