BIG names opening up this year:

Florida
USC
Texas
Nebraska
West Virginia
Michigan
UCONN
Virginia
Illinois

Any to add or disagree with this list? I think these are all a great possibility at this point.

One other school you might add, but I think it depends on if they get over 7 wins: Washington

USC might keep Oregeron. He has been doing a hell of a job although I wouldn't agree with the decision.

That's up the in air, and I think no matter what USC will still conduct a search.

Mack has said he still has a say in his demise and wont leave until he is ready. Dont believe he is quite ready to go yet.

Northern Illinois will be looking for a new coach too probably. But for a different reason ofcourse.

even with the new AD? Don't know if you guys know who this AD guy is, but he is the "executioner" he was hired for the Portland Trail Blazers to come in and chop heads.

Mack has a big time contract that has some years left on it. The buy out would be pretty hefty. He will not go quietly i can promise you that, and if they push him out, they certainly wont get who they really want. Mack and Saban are friends and Mack said he knows Saban is not trying to get his job, its just Texas rumors swirling.

I don't think they would ever get Saban, even if Mack left on good terms. If Saban is Texas #1 target, then no matter it be end of this year, or 3 years from now, they better look for option 2.

Would be a stupid move for anyone to hire him after one year after taking over for Doeren. Sometimes it has more to do about a program and a certain player than the coach.

Saban has probably the best recruiting class in history coming in this next year if a piece or two more falls into place, he would be a fool to leave that on the table for someone else by leaving to go to Texas.

Iowa maybe, but Ferentz has turned that season around. Hawkeyes might get 8 wins.

I think he'll be retained as a recruiting coordinator and possible assistant for whoever comes in.

It is hard to not keep a guy like him on the staff, unless someone else makes him an offer. I think he will get at least 1 call in the off season. Might be to a smaller school but he should get some offers.

honestly don't see him taking a smaller HC job. the dude loves USC, I too think the new coach keeps him on staff.

Time will tell. I think he is much better suited as an assistant coach, his stint at Ole Miss proved that to me. He had too much talent to be putting teams on the field posting 3-9 seasons.

After Baylor beats us by 70 points next week, he'll go. He will have two choices at season end. Either get fired or deliver his retirement "for the best interest of the team" speech.

He better go quietly after all we've done for this piece of shit. He's been over paid for 5 years. No coach has made more for less wins than Mack Brown. He better work something out with us and just go.

And Sarkisian isn't going anywhere. Especially if we beat OSU and WSU to finish the season at 8-4.
