Womens college basketball makes no sense..
Randomly in the heart of conference play you get an enormous OOC game? Like South Carolina vs uconn????

How does this happen. There is also sometimes uconn vs Stanford or Stanford vs Tennessee just randomly placed in the season.

Do they do this to promote the product?

They do it because they want to put big games when they can get television exposure, and those chances are very rare.
