Watkins Commits to ND

Big time pick up for ND 4 star CB. ranked as the #11 CB in the country and #106 prospect in the country. Big time pick up. Had offers from Bama, Georgia, LSu and Oklahoma.

Also looking good for the Irish is his teammate Safety Payton Hendrix.

This is the one guy that they had a legit shot at getting that I really felt they needed. Now they need a NT to replace Nix. As for Hendrix I think they want him to play LB at the college level.

I think we are setting up ourselves very nicely next year offensively. Our secondary has some nice recruits but who knows if we will develop them. I'm very concerned about the defensive line and linebackers especially if Tuitt decides to leave. It is going to be very crucial for ND's success next year to have a high octane offense because I'm not sure about the defense.

We added two nice pieces to the puzzle this week. Perhaps we finally landed a good cornerback and good return man. I'm happy. If we build it they will come.

I would bet that his teammate Hendrix will also be committing sometime in the near future. He doesn't have the offers list that Watkins does but still some nice schools.
