Great get!!!! Not getting my hopes up until he signs on the line. A long way's to go until he signs and Urban Meyer is recruiting him hope he sticks.

Moorehead doing a great job in MD/DC. I think things are looking very good for Adams and Christian up there as well.

Not expecting to land Locksley since his dad is the OC at Maryland, plus he has offers from Bama, OSU and many others already, but the fact that he used the word "finally" in his tweet makes it seem like he was waiting on that offer. Interesting.

Also Shane tweeted that the coaches met for a few hours today to discuss recruiting so expect a bunch of offers to go out this week.

We offered DB Sterling Hammond according to Evan on 247. My main reason for posting this is because you have got to see his highlights. Kid is not afraid to hit... 2013 Highlights

I for one would love for us to have a real Ronnie Lott or Steve Atwater type bone crushing hitter at a safety position, maybe this kid could be that type

A commit from Gonzaga? And I had nothing to do with it? Maybe I should continue to avoid those reunions like I've been doing all this time.

looks like he could be really good, looks like he could also draw a lot of laundry and a few ejections

Yea... We (class of '98) started to really recruit the last couple of years I was there, but we (Gonzaga... Well all of the WCAC) are becoming a machine lately. We had two or three starters just show up my senior year, one OT from Saint Stephens and an RB from Pallotti. The RB had 305 yards, four TDs in the first half against O'Connell... Which got me into the game in the 3rd qtr and us in victory formation for 10 minutes of that qtr and all of the 4th.

We repeated as WCAC champs and that was it. Recruiting was in. The other WCAC (Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) tried to kick us and DeMatha out a couple of years later, and then just decided to start doing the same (see Fullers at Good Counsel). Gonzaga bought a building next door (was a women's correctional faculty that was operational when I was there, but the city shut it down a few years later) and turned it into a middle school for underprivileged... Yet surprisingly tall and athletic DC youth.

Pretty crazy how serious all of it has gotten.

Yeah, I think that is starting to go on everywhere. This area (the Roanoke and New River Valleys) and this part of the state hasn't got that bad yet, at least not wrt football. Salem (even though many probably wouldn't admit it) recruits players from throughout the area, in particular inner city kids that they can coerce with a better education than they are going to get in the city. I have heard that Patrick Henry and Christiansburg might do the same. And hey, good for the kids, glad they get that opportunity. That is probably one reason that William Fleming HS in Roanoke City (Lee Suggs' alma mater) has declined tremendously in enrollment and football power in the last 10-15 years.

Speaking of William Fleming, I read somewhere that Coach Johnson would be open to "sharing" WF basketball player/VT recruit Warren Craft with the football program if CFB and Craft wanted that. He is playing with the sucky football team this year and is THE bright spot. He is raw, yet very talented football player and a helluva athlete. I would be open to him trying out...not of course, at the expense of a schollie. JJ can eat that.
