Much more Kings-like game last night. Build a nice lead and then go into shut-down mode. Man is "That 70s Line" taking over as the no. 1 line or what? Nice to see Kopitar get one too. I thought Jones looked great. Gave up some fat rebounds and one cost him his shutout but the Kings defense was right there to clear the puck on all but that single occasion. By then though the game was in little doubt.
Highlight of the night for Ox though was the kids game during the first intermission. The 7-year old great-granddaughter was in goal for one of the Channel Islands Skating Arena teams and made a nice save on the very first shot she saw. Then cleared the puck off to her defense like a pro. Well yeah there's a little bit of proud bias there. The short game ended in a 0-0 tie as most of those kids games go. She even got interviewed after the game by Carlyn he ex-ice girl who now is co-MC of the intermission events with Jay Flatts.
