USC vs. Clemson pre-game

I'm a little surprised to see the Gamecocks favored by 5-6 points.
Though we've won 17 in a row at home, we've let several mediocre opponents hang pretty close this year (we're 5-6 against the spread). Only a couple of blowouts.
Also, Clemson is ranked above us in all the polls.
Naturally as a homer I think we'll win, but I'm just surprised that anyone else thinks so, especially Vegas (opened at 6). No way I'd seriously predict more than a 3 point win.

There is no way this game is even close. Clemson is going to dump truck USCe! This game will be over at the half. What surprises me is that Cock fans even think they have a shot in this one. Do you not remember having to survive against UCF? Do you not remember the beat down Georgia gave you? Do you not remember losing to the Volunteers? Do you not remember being the luckiest team alive to survive at Mizzou?

Bottom line is the Gamecocks have not been a very good first half team this season. Against teams like UCF and Mizzou you might get away with that. Against Clemson you will be in such a deep hole you won't be able to see daylight. The only thing that could keep this game close is Clemson's horrible defense.
