So am I: There has been no marked drop off in football championships from the PAC10 to the PAC 12 despite of the extra conference game. For you to have a valid excuse, would you not think that there would be one? Even with the same number of conference games, the PAC never had a championship game in the Bowl Coalition or Alliance eras, and two losses and a vacated win in the BCS era. What effect does the extra conference game have?

The SEC has more different schools win the CFP than any other conference has had appear in the game. We had more schools win a BCSCG than any other conference had appearing in one.

One conference respects college football tradition by playing their own conference members. TBH southerners don't respect college football. They aren't into college football tradition. Kind of like how LSU and FSU are playing a two game series in NFL stadiums.

Excepting the tradition of winning championships that is. The PAC should try that one, if they can ever handle the extra game against a non ranked conference team.

Unlike the SEC, the PAC schools enjoy playing each other due to the rivalries between those schools. It's a college football thing.

At least you have that going for you. Nothing like a trophy case full of Oregon State game participation trophies to keep you warm during the playoffs. :suds:

When was the last time Washington beat a ranked P5 team in OOC play?

It’s not about where they are ranked in the preseason it’s where they finish. Or is Minnesota not a good team because they aren’t ranked in the preseason?

Oh I know, you are right, I just thought it was funny that they both got ranked in the first place.

The PAC teams play nearly one more regular season P5 opponent on average compared to their SEC counterparts. Please don't tell me you attended college.

Only because the league forces it. According to that tweet the Pac 12 schedules like pussies OOC.

Only the Big 12 teams play more regular season P5 opponents on average. Seriously its a mystery to me sometimes why you choose to post in the CFF.

North Carolina finished 7-6 in the 2019 season so it’s not like they are rolling. They start the 2020 season with two likely losses with @UCF and neutral site Auburn.

They were 2-9 in 2018 and 3-9 in 2017 so it seems like they are riding the Mack Bandwagon.

It just dawned on me that they play one extra P-5 conference game yet average only .8 more P5 games overall than a SEC team. Think about that, they average almost one whole P5 OOC game a season … talk about tradition.

When a school brings in a new coach and improves from 2-9 to 7-6, it's easy to believe it was largely because of the new coach. They may start the season 0-2, but they get a break when they start playing ACC teams. But playing in the weak ACC, they'll need at least 10 wins to make the Top 25, I'd think? Do they play Clemson next year?

No, they escape Clemson in the cross over games.

I just wanna know why the Pac 12 is a bunch of pussies in OOC scheduling?

Yeah imagine if the Pac 12 actually scheduled tough OOC games?

Certainly Washington's schedule last year would apply. Oregon played Auburn last year and Ohio State the next 2 seasons, so...
