Let's get this hype train rolling! I need USC to have Urban Meyer and a whole lot of expectations at the start of next season. (A top 15 ap ranking wouldn't hurt either.) So if hired, how quickly could he get the job done? :hmm:

I'd say 4 years, maybe 3 after his recruits come in and are in his system for a couple of years.

The talent is there. I think Helton is too much of a buddy to his players. They like him but they don’t fear him. That’s why they play so undisciplined

2 years. He can recruit nationally and would exploit the shit out of LA. Especially with this new likeness rule.

LA is about to become a huge recruiting tool when it comes to $$$. I don't think folks have even fully grasped the implications yet, but any highly visible school in a major financial and media market will have an advantage.

He could probably do it in 1 but I would say 2. Doubt he is going anywhere next year...would be at least 2-3 more years until he considers going back to head coaching imo

The irony being that Saban actually owns a car dealership

I think Urban Meyer is going to either Michigan or ND.

They have options at QB which is really the key to winning quickly after a staff change.
They also have some serious talent in key skill positions.

And it's the Pac. It's not like you are asking him to come in and dominate an Ohio State or Clemson. There isn't an elite program in the conference.

They do play Bama and ND in OOC, but those don't matter for winning the conf.

Careful what you wish for OP. While you only want this so a win over them pads your SoS more, it's not a gimmie you beat that team. First game of the year and no tape on what that team will be doing?

To win a PAC-12 Championship? One.

From what I've been hearing, USC is expected to be favored to win the PAC-12 South next year. That was with Helton as coach.

Plus, we only lose something like 12 players.

And Meyer won their conf the first season for both Utah and Ohio State I believe. Didn't he go undefeated his first year at OSU? Florida was more of a rebuild.

The Pac doesn't have a team that is stacked enough to go up against a full strength USC with an actual killer HC.

At Florida, he won the national championship in his second season.

He did but the BIG was pretty terrible that year. They technically didn't win the BIG because they weren't eligible to

Both them and PSU were the best teams and neither could win the league lol

How people are so quick to ignore that Meyer is crazy is beyond me. That shit doesn’t usually just go away as you get older.

For the same reason a guy is willing to ignore a really hot girl is crazy...its worth it.

3 national championships. Wins everywhere he goes. Brings in a shit ton of money to the university.

His time at Ohio State I only had a problem with the Zach Smith fiasco. The university as a whole fucked up on that one as well. And it's not like he ignored the signs to gain some competitive advantage, that would have been very condemning to me, he did it bc Smith was like a son to him. The dude was a terrible WR coach who was too busy trying to be friends with the kids and trash talk on Twitter than actually teach them how to play football. Had this same shit come out about say Larry Johnson or Mickey Mariotti I think I would have looked at things quite a bit differently.
