Univseristy of Connecticut wants only to be UCONN

I have been referring to not only U of Connecticut as UCONN since I was old enough to fill out a NCAA march madness bracket, but I refer to the state as UCONN out of habit. I have rarely ever even heard anyone call them University of Connecticut.

Their bball jerseys have had UCONN on them for as far as I can remember. Like I said, did anyone ever really call them Connecticut? Even if football, I've only ever heard UCONN.

This would be bigger news if they said they wanted to get away from the UCONN name and be called Connecticut.
