6-4 and 205 is a big dude. That's going to be a major advantage in jump ball situations when he's paired up with smaller corners that are prevalent in the college game. If he has a break out year at WR, he might end up just sticking to that position.

He better be careful not to end up like Devin Gardner. Being flipped around like that means you're never really specializing in anything. Just practicing in the background at your position allows you to work your way to the top some day. Switching to WR or whatever and then trying to come back seems like it just increases your chances of getting passed by someone else willing to put in the time on the bench.

I agree. 99.9% of QBs have to spend a year on the bench/redshirt ect...

Word is that he approached the coaches with the idea. Still wants to play QB in the end but knew he didn't have much of a shot at getting PT this year and he didn't want to redshirt
