As an outsider, I've always been baffled that the Warriors have such a fanbase for precisely the reasons listed in Simmons' column. No offense to you guys, but the franchise is constantly stumbling over itself. It's not like they're the Clippers with a complete piece of scum for an owner. Nothing ever goes Golden State's way. Only other franchise like it is Portland and their curse for high draft picks.

Like you saw in 2007, we're a fan base that is pretty much ready to get excited about anything. Maybe the success of the other teams in the area have nullified a lot of our misery and have made us hopeful that the W's will someday win championships like the Niners, Raiders, A's and Giants have done. At least we're not Cleveland.
