Everyone also knows that re-matches tend to favor the first time loser of a game to look better in the re-match.

Everyone who isn't 4down20 knows this, even Alabama beat LSU after losing to them earlier in the season to win the NC. It's like they forget their own past.

History shows us that Bama loses bowl games and claims national championships all of the time. I don't see why gumps won't get behind UCF here. They went undefeated, won their conference, and beat Auburn. Three things Alabama couldn't do.

I just don't see this is an issue.

UCF recognizes themselves as National Champions.
UGA recognizes themselves as 1942 National Champions.
Alabama recognizes themselves as 1941 National Champions.

UCF was recognized by the Orlando Sentinal, a local newspaper.
UGA and Alabama were arguably recognized by a statisticians poll.

The NCAA doesn't recognize any them as National Champions.

If the NCAA doesn't recognize them, then it's only in recent history that it's changed.

As for UCF:

0 National Championships Awarded
1 National Championship Claimed

What does the trophy look like?

Correlation does not imply causation.

If Alabama was to rematch Vandy this year - is Vandy going to win? No, because they aren't the better team.

In 2011, Alabama actually had the better statistics in the game, it was on the scoreboard that LSU won - in overtime by a FG.

Alabama has never done that.

Alabama was awarded the national championship before the bowl games, because that's how it was done back then.

UCF - 0 national championship awarded, 1 national championship claimed.

Show me the trophy!

I’m not sure what the trophy will look like, we will probably see pics from when they receive it at the parade. Maybe it’ll look similar to the ones Alabama claimed that aren’t really real

They can phone up Oregon for design ideas.

That's not strength of schedule. That's more of a "strength of resume" which is more like a final ranking in which they only finish 6th. It's a ranking of the teams they've beat and who they've lost to.

#6 is actually kind of bad if you are talking about being NC worthy.

Alabama is #2 in that, Georgia is #1.
shoosh its close enough!
