I don't think anybody in their right mind is going to say trade down with 9 picks this year and likely 9 picks next. So what do we do? (what should we do)
Why should we trade ______?

Trade up .
OL, DL, DB.
Unless the picks valued are not there, then trade for higher picks next year.

Have to trade up, or out this yr. NE does not have the room to sign all these guys. There are only so many roster spots. Those extra 3rd, 4th round picks are going to help them trade up.

They should trade up. They are the 11th youngest team in the league so they don't need to get younger and therefore don't need all the picks. Bundle up some picks and trade up.

Belichick will stand pat. My guess is that he'll select an OL at 32. Only way he moves up is if there's an honest to God top 5 pick that has dropped to the middle of the first round. Way too many good players will be available at 32 to make a crazy move to get an unknown.

I agree I think he takes the best O Line man @ 32. Maybe a move up in rpund 2 if a dominant DL is still there or a possible CB he can't live without. With his track record on DBs and this class I hope I'm wrong.

So why have Todd Gurley come in for a visit? It's not an area of need like the other positions already mentioned and he won't be there at 32 anyway. Probably will get picked by Dallas. Doesn't make sense if they do trade up to get a RB.

Sorry, I had not even considered trading involving higher picks next year. That is a viable action, as part of other draft moves.....

Have to do the due diligence. Each team is allowed something like 32 visits and everybody has to bring in at least 2-3 running backs and a couple of quarterbacks.

Rumors are maybe even the Jets take him especially if they can move back a few spots.

Jets will find a way to fuck things up. There are also rumors they are trying to find a way to move up to get Mariotta.

If it comes down to Gurley at 32 and all the OG and 4th/5th/6th best DT on the board...I am taking him. No questions asked. Package your xtra 3rd and 4th and move back into the 2nd rd and get your OG/DT. I am also starting to think that DT is not as high on the list as we think. I think we add to that once some cuts are made.

I'd settle for a 3rd down back that can replace Vereen. Pats can find that in the later rounds. I think Vereen is a huge loss. I think Blount and Grey can handle the majority of carries. Not to sure if any of the other backs can pick up Vereen's output.

I think james white may even be an upgrade over vereen

Oh shit! You said it!
Lewis, White and Gaffney will be catching passes in pre-season. If they are not able to fill Vereen's spot, Travaris Cadet will make the team. We have 4 running backs that can catch the ball. It is all about "odd man out"
I'd be really, really surprised if we miss Vereen. One of these 4 will get more than 1930 total combined yards in his career. I'm expecting double Vereen's output. Quote me at the end of the year if I'm wrong!

I'll quote you now.

Vareen I liked, but never felt he was a Marshall Faulk that I'd like to see or even the Kevin Faulk that I'd love to see.
