Not much action at the trade deadline, other than Denver. Broncos also tried to get Joe Thomas from the Browns. They were said to be willing to part with 1st and 2nd round draft choices but balked when the Browns asked for a 3rd as well, according to reports out here in Ohio. Browns GM Farmer is under fire for not making a move. Pats had reportedly tried to get a CB but the asking prices were too high. Pats CB's now are pretty green, with Logan Ryan (2+ years) being the "graybeard". I am looking for BB to maybe sign Cortland Finnegan for the rest of this season. Hopefully, he has some gas left in the tank and can act as something of a mentor for the young CB's currently on the Pats roster.

Rumor was that Belichick asked about Joe Haden. The Browns were willing to deal him but they wanted a 2016 second round and a 2017 first round. Needles to say, Farmer wasn't really interested in dealing anyone unless he looked like he'd just skinned the cat.

Another rumor was that the Pats were looking to pick up Joe Staley from the 49ers. But the 49ers took a tremendous hit for letting Vernon Davis go for two late rounders and they were trying to get a second or third round pick for Staley which is too high.

Typical NFL trade deadline......dead quiet

Speaking from out here in NE Ohio, I'm glad a Joe Haden trade never happened. Although he has a pretty good reputation in the league, I get to see him on TV practically every week and he has some fairly substantial flaws that would make Farmer's high asking price a definite non starter. Sounds like Farmer wants to load up on high draft choices. Judging from the lack of success the Browns have had with their high draft choices over the past several years, probably not a good plan.

Gotta think that with Pats success with turning others scrap into gold, not to mention their current record, asking price for anyone would be high.

The Pats should have offered their 2016 first round pick. :L

If they had, and SF agreed, Goodell would have re-instated it.

Probably right.
Or if they just gave it away, to maybe....Indianapolis.

Or New York.

Or Baltimore.
