I never understood the infatuation people have with Philip Rivers. It is unreal.

Overall I'd say that's a pretty good list. Of course I'd move some names around here and there if could, but well done.

I have you mother at 5.
I love when posters complain about something then can't provide a simple answer to justify their own bitching.

So Rivers isn't #5. Who is?

Newton?
Luck?
Big Ben?
Eli?
Romo?
Wilson?
Alex Smith?

Either answer the question or :stfu:

Kinda like the guy that said that Briggs was ancient history and when I proved him wrong, he had no reply. Kinda like that.

Rivers is not number 5 by default. But, I would put Big Ben and Luck right there.

So you have both Ben and Luck at #5?

Briggs missed 7 games, no need for me to reply. He's old. And Id have Big Ben over Rivers as well.

You missed the part where he was having a career year before his injury. I guess with your logic, Rodgers is not a top 5 QB because he missed 7 games.

Ben and Rivers are pretty close. There can be a case made for both. I just felt like Rivers had a much better year and over the span of their careers when they're at their best Rivers has consistently put up better numbers.

Yes Ben has the two rings...but some of that has to do with him playing on one of the decade's best defense

Lol by the way there is no infatuation with Rivers...I'm not even a Phillip Rivers fan...just trying to be objective with their season accomplishments and numbers they've put up

As for Luck he's definitely not top 5. He has top 5 moments and games in which he looks like a top 5 quarterback...but until he does it consistently for a full season he doesn't warrant a spot

Russell is closer to the top 5 than he is in my opinion

Why because Wilson has a complete package of a team around and Luck doesn't?

Wilson's complete package isn't what keeps him from consistently throwing the ball to the other team ala Andrew Luck. People need to stop making excuses for Luck. Yeah, his O line is crap but he has some nice receivers to throw the ball to (T.Y. Hilton especially) yet he can't keep from tossing picks. Until he reigns in his turnovers he doesn't deserve to be in the discussion of elite QBs.

I agree he is not top 5 but to say he has some nice receivers is laughable. He did when Wayne wasn't injured but once he went down and Hilton was asked to be the #1 guy and the rest I don't even think would make many NFL rosters as even a #5 receiver. Hilton is a nice #2 but that is about it. Throw in his best TE went down I think week 1 so even that position was lacking quite a bit.
