there is no way to vote against Babe here unless you really look down on the period he played in... Robinson might be a top 10 player of all time, but he is certainly no Babe Ruth...

Yeah, Ruth is easily the greatest baseball player of all time, but even if you take away the pitching if you assume he played Rightfield for most or all of the rest of the time he is still easy to pick here. That being said, Robinson was very consistantly great for a long time. I'm not exactly sure how dWAR stats are calculated but according to that his defense was his one flaw that kept him back a little.

Yeah, I think sometimes the guys who stay in baseball in other capacities sometimes get overlooked for some reason. Joe Torre wasn't on the level as Robinson, but I don't think a lot of people realize he was a borderline hall of famer as a player before he made it in as an executive a couple years ago.
