No Steven Jackson??? I think hes a top 5 back this year with all the weapons on Atlanta IF the Falcons decide they want to run it. If Michael Turner can average 1400 yards per year in Atlanta ( up til last year) then I see no reason Jackson wont do the same or better.

I didn't realize the Patriots' running back did that good. I knew Morris did surprisingly good, but not Ridley.

My friend pointed out that I only did rushing stats and neglected receiving stats, so I'll take a few days to do a lot of number crunching. I'll even do a few years too.

I could see Steven Jackson going for about 1000yds rushing but not 1400yds. Jaquezz Rodgers is going to takes carries away from Jackson to keep him fresh for their super bowl push, plus Matt Ryan throwing the ball all over the field to his wr's and Tony G. I would probably put Steven Jackson just outside the top 10, but he is a heck of a RB and a good move on Atlanta's part to pick him up.

You may be right but Atlanta was a run first team pretty much every year til last year. Now with all the weapons on the outside they may well still be pass first BUT if they go back to run first and SJ is even 75% of the back he once was he should lock up 1500 yards easy as hell. Cant exactly load the box vs the Falcons.

He's hurt all the time, but no love for Demarco Murray? When healthy I have him above the likes of Doug Martin, Forte probably Spiller as well.

Your might be right when health that Murray is better then Martin and Spiller, but Matt Forte when healthy I feel is better all around player then Murray. Demarco might be losing carries or his starting job if he gets hurt again.

Falcons win the South easy if SJ rushes for 1500yds and Jaquezz Rodgers adds another 350 to 400yds to go with Matty Ice passing yds. That's a dynamite offense.

OK here's my picks.

1) AP
2) Lynch Ok a homer pick but He's good.
3) Doug Martin
4) Alfred Morris Mmmm his stats may be padded by having RG# and the read option, but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt.
5)Foster
6)Charles
7) Rice The guy could be higher if they used him more and they should.
8)Forte
9)Chris Johnson I expect a come back.
10) Gore/S. Jackson

#1. Adrian Peterson (MIN) - last season's standings tell it all. I'd be a fool not to put him at #1.
#2. Marshawn Lynch (SEA) - Look at his consistancy. Unless there's injury or trouble, I don't see him having a down year in 2013.
#3. LeSean McCoy (PHI) - I took in consideration that Philly was all messed up and I do think he will benefit from Chip being there.
#4. Arian Foster (HOU) - Not as consistant as Lynch and depending on how Philly does, may have better season than McCoy.
#5. Ray Rice (BAL) - 2011 was a better year for him, but he is still very strong. Good rushing and receiving stats.
#6. Doug Martin (TB) - Great on the ground and was good as a receiver.
#7. Jamaal Charles (KC) - Barely played in 2011, so I didn't include his stats. Did amazing rushing but I feel 5th is a good spot for him. Those above him either have better rushing stats or when including receiving, they pass Charles.
#8. Alfred Morris (WAS) - Was amazing on the ground, but wasn't much of a receiver. Definitely under-the-radar as he was in RG3's shadow.
#9. C.J. Spiller (BUF) - Last year was definitely his break-through season. Strong receiving running back.
#10. Frank Gore (SF) - It came down between Gore and Chris Johnson. Gore had just a little better stats IMO.

Others considered

Chris Johnson
Stevan Ridley
Matt Forte
BenJarvis Green-Ellis
Ahmad Bradshaw
Steven Jackson
Maurice Jones-Drew
Trent Richardson
Reggie Bush
Ryan Matthews

To look up the stats I gathered for all the running backs - http://jeremybjelland.tumblr.com/post/54359702419

Standings only include for just running backs.

I would have looked at Shonn Greene if he was still with the Jets, but since he is now with the Titans, I don't really see him more than a 3rd down back.

Listen people. All I know is that Steven Jackson in his last 4 years averaged 1200 yards per year, 4.3 ypc and caught 40+ passes per year playing on some BAD Rams teams that have nothing even remotely close to the firepower Atlanta has at QB, WR and TE. If a guy can do that against 7 and 8 man fronts playing some damn good defenses in SF, Seattle and Arizona then imagine what he is going to do against Tampa, Carolina and NO with 5 and 6 man fronts all the time. Ill be SHOCKED if he doesnt get 15-1600 yards and catch 50+ passes this year. Shocked. Guy is without a doubt better than Turner has ever been and Turner put up 14-1500 yards in 3 of the last 4 seasons he started every game.

I found this list to be quite hard to determine. There were like 3-4 who had breakthrough seasons last year or came in as freshman and shined under-the-radar. Will they be 1 hit wonders or will they be consistent. I took it as they will be consistent.

Players like AP, Foster, and Lynch have been the most consistent, and you want Jackson to be with them.
McCoy was part of a terrible system which is now changed, but the system worked for him the previous year. He was the best RB in the NFL 2 years ago.
Jamal Charles was one of the NFLs top backs on the worst team in the NFL, and they just got a good QB.
Same can be said about CJ Spiller, except the QB part.
Alfred Morris was in RG3's shadow very well. I didn't know Washington had a QB until week 14.
Frank Gore has been consistent his whole career, and now he has an amazing OL in front of him.
Chris Johnson is consistent when healthy.
Stevan Ridley - Can you guess what team he played for??? Yeah I didn't know either. He had amazing stats for the Patriots. Break-through season.

You can say crap like that with a dozen more RBs. Should Jackson be seriously considered? Yes. I did consider him. I looked up the same stats, and you can look at the link I posted on my top 10. I didn't rank after 10, although Johnson would have been 11. After that, I just stopped doing the list. Just looked over their stats. I feel all those players can finish top 10.
