Columbus jumping all over Carolina early: Up 2-0, less than 3 minutes in.

Just going to post the same thing about Columbus. This team is just killing it lately. Good to see them returning to last years form after a slow start this season.

I was on the ice at practice last night, so I didn't see it. I think they played strong against Buffalo, but didn't have an answer for Buffalo's puck pressure until late in the second. They started to take off, but Miller just owned them.

By all accounts, Carolina was a beast last night and it's a miracle they held on as long as they did. Jackets didn't necessarily blow it from what I hear, more like lost their grip. Canes are a good team and I am hoping the Jackets didn't take them lightly. Ottawa in town tonight and Captials on Thursday. Time to re-focus and split some wigs. Provided Richards doesn't start McBackup in either.

I see Cody Golubef only got 11 minutes of ice time. So they basically rolled five D again. Note to Richards; that doesn't work.

Hurricanes are now 3rd place in the Metro. Crazy how there seems to be a new team in the 3rd spot on any given night. In this month alone, I believe the Flyers, Rangers, Capitals, Blue Jackets, and now Hurricanes have all held the 3rd spot at least once. Pretty much the entire division except for the Pens & Isles have held the 3rd spot it seems.

Jackets are in a tough spot with Savard having the Flu. He is an incredibly underrated D-man. And Golubef has upside, just not more than Prout or Savard. I think his call up was a chance for other teams to see him in NHL action so the Jackets can maybe package him with Gaborik at the deadline. Playing 11 minutes doesn't look good.

I saw in the Buffalo game that there were communication issues on D when they rolled five. Particularly between Wiz and Nikitin. Led to at least one Buffalo goal. Erixon got called up and can play NHL minutes. I expect he'll be in tonight. Hope they keep 7 D and give Cody another shot.
