They aren't a great team this year. That's for sure. I'd just give him another year. Herman was one of the most sought after coaches, so I just have a hard time thinking this is purely a coaching problem. Another year and Texas will know. You scrap everything now and they have to potentially start over and they're looking at another 3 years of maybe bad football.

Oh he's getting another year for sure. Some assistants will be gone IMO , but Herman's Decision year will be next year. If he doesn't at least get back to the Big 12 title game, he might be gone.

That was more about the (overpaid) Bob Stoops and his (incompetent) little brother ALWAYS losing at least one game every year when the team just wasn't ready to play. Herman drew the lucky straw that season and Houston was handed a gift win. But the Horns flipped out and drank the kool-aid then hired the last guy who should have ever been at Texas.

No chance that they fire him this year. I think they give him at least next season to get things figured out, unless Urban is on board this offseason.

I don't understand the panic at Texas. Hell, it's kind of like my first round of golf every spring. Totally forgot reality and actually only remember the good shots from the past. Snowman on the first par 3 and I'm like...oh ya now I remember, I suck. By May they will be talking about the playoffs. Sticking their chests out all summer long and the worst part is probably be ranked #10 in the first preseason poll. It's just become a cycle.

Herman at least gets to start next season as head coach. A win in the RRSO next year would cool his seat down a bit, even if he goes on to lose two or three other games. But a mid-season collapse could result in him being dismissed before the end of next year's regular season.
