A monk was spotted taking a nap and sunbathing on top of a 200 foot wind turbine at the Portsmouth Abbey School.
According to the Daily Mirror, San Diego resident Kevin Miller was vacationing in the Ocean State when he was operating the drone.
The noise of the drone awoke Brother Joseph Byron, who was perched on the support column of the turbine. At, first, Miller said he appeared to be irritated that he was disturbed.
But, Miller told the Mirror, “I decided to take a closer look by moving closer to say hi. Once I got closer I moved the drone side to side to say hello and he motioned back to the drone. It was a cool interaction between us.”
The monk works for the Abbey. He often sits atop the turbine, which is not operational, for some fun in the sun.
The video gained about 100,000 views in 24 hours.
