The Next Xbox Will Require an Internet Connection To Start Games, Sources Say

Looking more and more like the new console will require a constant internet connection. So many sources keep saying it so there must be some truth to it.

My thoughts are still the same. Total bullshit. I've been a fan of the Xbox over the Playstation since the first Xbox but I'm strongly considering jumping ship if this turns out to be true. With Mass Effect and Gears of War being essentially over, the only Microsoft exclusive that I care about is Halo. I'm not buying a console with a bullshit feature just to play Halo.

And the way 343 is treating Halo.... I would say its not worth it to stick around anymore.

Treating the multiplayer side of things. The Campaign of Halo 4 I enjoyed.... the multiplayer is ridiculous. Long gone are the days of Halo 2 & Halo 3.

So far sounding like the PS4...a few new cool tricks but nothing groundbreaking. First gen xbox and PS were groundbreaking, PS2 upgraded a bit and added some features, PS3 major advances in pictures with Xbox 360 doing the same. Now this new generation doesn't have anything that honestly couldn't be added through a peripheral and firmware. Yeah graphics are better, but can't get that much better unless a new compression comes out and TV's get better. So they are relying on "cloud gaming" to sell these. Sorry, I don't mind actually having a DVD. I prefer it actually. Everything else about the PS4 was a non-starter for me. Was hoping xbox would wow me but nothing new really, just performance upgrades and cloud crap.

The new Kinect sensor has a wider field of view and supposedly much higher quality.

The Kinect can see the transfer of weight in the body, it can see your wrist change, it can even read your heartbeat.

That's creepy!

Wilson says "Only on Xbox" -- curious what that means. Did Sony lose out on some of these new sports titles? If so, that's bad news for the Japanese game maker.
