I'll start:

Victor Martinez (DET):

592 consecutive at-bats without taking a 3rd called strike. Last time V-Mart struck out looking was May of 2013.

That is...unbelievable. And also quirky.

Detroit has a 9-game road win streak - their longest since 1984 (won the World Series that year). We have a ways to go before we match that one. That streak lasted 17 games.

Tigers 14-4 on the road this season.

Why is this quirky?

Tulowitzki's 2014 splits (not including tonight):
Home: .593/.667/1.056, 1.723 OPS
Away: .247/.375/.519, .894 OPS

And keep in mind, an .894 OPS is still very good. Especially coming from a very good defensive shortstop.

FWIW, Fangraphs rates him at 3.7 WAR. BB-Ref has him at 4.1. Both of which are well above everyone else.

If you have quirkier stats for this year, please feel free to post them.

Winning games on the road isn't quirky lol. It doesn't matter if I have quirkier. That is not quirky.

Chase Ultely has a slash line of .340/.399./.553 with an OPS of .952.. Elite especially for a 2nd baseman.. Yet he is on pace for 12 homers and 87 RBIs.. Horrible lineup around him..

It's very rare to see a guy with such a high ISO hit so few home runs. He's on pace for 67 doubles and 12 triples. Utley does have a low HR/FB (only 6.8%, career 12.4%), so he'll probably start hitting more home runs sooner or later.

His lack of runs is crazy too. Dozier has 18 more runs scored with a lower OBP. Granted he has 11 homers so that will create runs.

Ultley's ISO is slightly lower than 22, 33 and 31 HR seasons respectively but it's still awesome for a 2nd Baseman.. His wOBA is the second best of his career since 2007 and his wRC+ is the best by far at 162.. The BABIP is a little high at .381 so he may level off soon.. I still think his lack of actual offensive production is a product of the shit lineup around him.. Guys like Dominic Brown need to step up.. He is looking like a bust prospect at this point..

Oh, no doubt. I'm just amazed at how he's achieved such a high ISO.

Remember when Phillies fans actually tried to argue Brown was better than Heyward? Not that Heyward's setting the world on fire this year, but he was a very productive player prior to this year (and quite arguably one of the best players in the NL in 2010 and 2012). Even in Heyward's worst offensive years, his outstanding defense still makes him a pretty decent player. BB-Ref has Heyward at 19.8 WAR in 571 games. Brown at -0.1 in 325.

Both Heyward and Brown haven been disappointments so far.. Brown was considered a top 20 prospect and people were hyping up Heyward, not Trout, as the next dominant player.. Heyward can play defense and is average offensively.. People thought he was going to be a top 10 player overall though...
