Thread is pretty simple, it is just a platform for discussion about free agents (along with other miscellaneous forms of acquisition) that you think can best address holes and/or depth in the 2014 lineup.

Potential targets off the top of my head: Jairus Byrd(FS) Decker (WR) Maclin (WR) Geoff Schwartz (OL)

Expected losses prior to FA off the top of my head:

Geoff Schwartz, Brandon Albert, Asamoah, Dunta Robinson, and Kendrick Lewis.

Great thread, Moose. I think that after the draft, I might merge these two threads (draft and FA acquisitions). But I think there's a distinction between free agency and the draft so I will leave them separate for now.

Maclin would be sweet if healthy, Byrd too.

Disclaimer: I know this would never ever ever ever ever happen. So don't get on me for this.

DeSean Jackson was saying that he wants more money. Let's trade for him. That would be great to have him. I worked with his mom at a Los Angeles law firm. She was there when he was a rookie. I'm not sure if she still there. Perhaps, it could've been his aunt? All I know is that people were giving her grief about his Monday Night Football fumble. And someone told me that she was his mom. There's always the possibility that she is related but the person was wrong about what type of relationship. I supposed that DeSean might not take care of his mom. That was his rookie year, though.

Do they have Avery back for another year, I really think he's an asset as a good slot guy. Hemingway impressed some, I didn't think he'd even make the team when drafted. Jenkins we'll see if they keep.

I was paying attention to the Jayhawks yesterday, but they lost at freakin' AFH where they win just about 99% of the time so I am still mad, lol.:gaah:

NFL network replayed the game last night which I tortured myself with. It somehow was easier to understand watching it again. Basically we needed to score another touchdown in the 2nd half to salt it away, plus force either a punt or a FG somewhere.

Anything, could've been the difference. I was telling a friend that if Hemingway had blocked that guy, Bowe scores. But then who knows whether KC scores the same number of points after that? I also thought that if the Chiefs had scored a touchdown instead of a field goal on the second drive, they would've won. But who knows maybe the Avery 79 yard TD does not happen? Maybe if they had gone for it and failed, maybe they stop Luck on the 1 yard line. Maybe Luck scores and no later INT.

There are so many possibilities. Even the Gray pass would've been different if Gray hadn't stutter stepped. Or if Smith had loft it up instead of throwing it at him. Gray said that he slow down and Smith said that he still should've gone it to him. They had no reps together.

After Luck's first score in the second half, it was so easy. Then they started to run a little bit. KC stopped the run. So the next drive they passed it all over and won the game eventually. Maybe if Kansas City had not been so good at stopping the run, they would've run out of time? Pun intended. They would've still scored but taken so much longer.

The defense which was so good early in the year really fell apart late. Flowers or no Flowers. Another key play was the 3rd/10 early in the 4th where Indy was on their 10 yd line or so and they let Hilton get underneath. Stopping them would've given KC good field position on a punt.

If we can fix the execution of the defense, I think this defense is fine. Again, talent really shouldn't be this D's problem outside of Lewis ( And Robinson when he was in)... and he is gone. No excuses next year in year two of the system.
