I have a 2011 Tacoma that looks similar to this

I have been considering a tonneau cover for the bed or maybe even a bed cap. What do you all think about them?

I have one on my Street truck. Mine is fiberglass and fits over the truck bed sides.

Some do not fit this way and are not weather-tight. They are a bitch to remove and then you have to be careful where you store it while not on truck.

If you use your truck as a truck, (I have two other trucks for work) then I would not recommend the fiberglass cover.

I went with a tri-fold tonneau cover on my new Colorado. I wanted something that would be easily able to take off with one person or just fold back to allow most of the bed to be used with tall cargo, along with it being a cheaper alternative. Storage is easier than a one piece fiberglass cover and could even be placed inside the bed assuming your cargo doesn't take up the entire width of the bed.

I would definitely go for the trifold type as opposed to the full on fiberglass style. I use my truck as a truck, but usually don't haul much tall cargo. I am always worried about keeping stuff (golf clubs, boxes) dry while driving. I havea back seat, but that is usually filled with dogs.

To release, you pull down and away on the handle. The handle then can swivel towards the track allowing you to fold it a couple times and there is a strap that you can buckle to the first section to keep those two sections from flying open when driving.

Even though I have no idea what it is you speak of, I suspect I don't require one.

funny, I just saw someone selling this exact brand on Craiglist. Would need to get the hardware separate though, which is a bit of a pain in the ass.
