Thoughts On SuperFlex Strategy

We just started up a 16 team Superflex dynasty league draft yesterday. The 2nd and 3rd overall picks were being shopped. The owner of the 2nd pick only wanted to drop down to 7 at most. Which wasn't doable for my team holding the 16th pick in the 1st round. While the owner of the 3rd overall pick said he would trade it for a 3rd and a 4th. So I offered him the trade. I didn't expect him to take it figuring he could get a better offer. But he did and I got DJ with the 3rd overall pick for my 48th and 49th picks. Now I have my 16th and 17th overall picks then no pick until the 80/81 picks. I figure it has to be two QB's unless someone totally unexpected drops to the picks. Now do you guys think it would be a good idea to move down from one of these picks for extra picks? Or should I stick with 16 and 17 and take the best QB's?

16 team league with Super flex... I would definitely go for 2 QBs... Not even a question... Shocked a 16 team league would even do a superflex... What is the QB scoring??

2 extra points when total passing completions is greater than or equal to 25
1 point for every 20 yards
1 extra point when total passing yards is greater than or equal to 300
6 points every passing TD
2 extra points for every passing TD between 40-79 yards
4 extra points for every passing TD of 80 yards or more
2 points for every 2 point conversion
-2 points for every INT

yea, there is NO WAY I would not get 2 QBs with your next 2 picks... I am shocked by how little QBs went off so far... This is a 16 team league, someone will likely not even have a second QB... don't let that be you...

honestly, if you don't take 2 QBs at 16/17, I doubt there will be any left for you at 80/81 that you'd start this season

with the option to start a 2nd QB in the flex, you have to do whatever you can to make sure you have 2 QBs every week, or you'll get roasted by the guy with 2 good QBs and Danny Woodhead as his RB1

Yep, superflex is just a twist on a 2QB, 2 strong QB's will win all the time. Only difference is when yippy have a QB in bye, you "can" start a RB or WR

Anytime you have a league with more than 1 QB or Superflexs get you max # of QBs as early as you can

don't agree with the blanket statement... BUT in this situation I do... Still cant believe a 16 team league would even do a superflex...

Why would you not agree with it? Once you allow for a second QB starter, you have made that position the most important to the point where you have to protect yourself against byes and injuries.

in a 10 team league, I want one top QB, but the 2nd, I don't care if he is a bottom starter... I am not rushing to get my 2nd QB... I wouldn't rush to get my 2nd in a 12 team league either... Really, what I do, is make a list of QBs I don't want.... If there is more QBs on the I DONT want list than potential BENCH/waiver wire QBs, then I draft them early... otherwise, I have no problem waiting for the second...

#1, that's a very specific exception, it's kind of a given there are always specific exceptions to "blanket statements"

you gotta realize though that when you make QB as valuable as they are in superflex/2QB formats and you NEED a QB2, you are basically screwed for the year.

gotta draft the guys early, just so much harder to get a 2nd one late in the draft, through trade, or the luck of the waiver process after an injury.

who knows, if you draft 3 and your 3rd turns out to be a gem, you could be the one adding a RB1/WR1 for a guy from your bench halfway through the season
