As a fan I want to see good football. That doesn't make me unique. We all want that. This is why I hate Thursday night games. Here's where they could've gotten it right. Week 12 is Thanksgiving. There are 3 games as usual--CHI @ DET, WAS @ DAL, and ATL @ NO. Why in the hell couldn't those 6 teams have been given a bye for week 11 so they could be fresh for week 12? That's 11 days between games instead of 4. Making things more annoying they have 6 other teams on bye for week 11.

Week 11 is also the MON night game of KC-LAR in Mexico City. Both of those teams have a bye for week 12 in which I favor. They're giving the Chiefs and Rams the week off after traveling to Mexico, but for Thanksgiving they're making all 6 teams play the Sunday before. Ridiculous.

I wish they would get rid of Thursday night games except for just 2 of them on Thanksgiving day featuring the Lions in one game and the Cowboys in the other and just have one Monday Night game. Plus the games overseas I fine without but nothing there will ever happen. Peace.

I would be more okay with Thursday games if it's teams coming off of bye weeks. It's beyond stupid that they don't do it that way.

Yeah. The teams playing on Thursday night should only be teams coming off a bye week. Most of these guys are still beat up from Sunday. Shit... I’m sore days after from just exercising.

The problem with that argument is that would give Dallas and Detroit an unfair advantage. They would always have a week 11 bye. I'm sure most teams would prefer that to say a week 5 bye.

I find it funny that you said: "As a fan I want to see good football". Yet you watch the NJG:lol:

Yeah, not a fan of the Thursday games either (Thanksgiving is fine), seems like it's a bit of an over saturation of the product. Making a team coming off the bye play on Thursday night would be a welcome change.

Those Thursday games are fuckin' bullshit because of the insane amount of injuries that happen due to the short week. That's where Seattle's team in 17 was basically massacred along with Arizona where there was like 8 total injuries to a bunch of key players (believe Sherman, Thomas or Chancellor, a couple O-Lineman and like 5 players from Zona got injured). That Thursday game basically took Seattle out of the playoffs.

I hate Thursday night games big time. And it's fuckin' Thursday. If anything make it Friday so I can watch sports while drinking freely and have an excuse to dodge annoying friends and females who don't feel like fuckin.

Thursday games give players less time to recover if they played the following Sunday.

But the NFL is super cereal about player safety en sech

I was OK with "extra" games showing up on the schedule after Turkey Day.

But $$$ overide sensibility.

Having said that I won't miss a televised game.

Why not just add another Monday night game like tonight? It works and gives a good excuse to get out of work early on a Monday. If they can't do that then I totally agree with the bye week before although tough to do that early in the year unless it's a fair rotation where everyone eventually gets an early bye. Should also go 18 games cut preseason while they are at it...

I'm sure that the quality of these games sucks but as a fan, I'm okay with NFL football 7 nights per week. as long as the Broncos only play on Sundays.

You could do the bye weeks in relation to how teams finished the season before....worst teams from the season before have their bye weeks first, with the exception of the 6 Thanksgiving teams--CHI, DET, ATL, NO, DAL, WAS. This is just in regards to how the teams finished last season. What would be even better is in addition to the idea I've presented also factoring in byes for teams that have to play on Thursday. If those teams had byes before a Thursday game that would make the games much better. Of course, it would require either starting bye weeks very early in the season or not having a Thursday game until WEEK 8 (after WEEK 1 of course....the regular season must start on a Thursday. I don't want to shit all over that:nono:.).

WEEK 7 (2)
CLE (0-16)
NYG (3-13)

WEEK 8 (6)
HOU (4-12)
IND (4-12)
DEN (5-11)
NYJ (5-11)
TB (5-11)
SF (6-10)

WEEK 9 (6)
MIA (6-10)
OAK (6-10)
GB (7-9)
CIN (7-9)
ARZ (8-8)
SEA (9-7)

WEEK 10 (6)
LAC (9-7)
BAL (9-7)
BUF (9-7)
TEN (9-7)
CAR (11-5)
KC (10-6)

WEEK 11 (6)--Thanksgiving teams
ATL (10-6)
CHI (5-11)
DAL (9-7)
DET (9-7)
NO (11-5)
WAS (7-9)

WEEK 12 (6)
NE (13-3)
JAX (10-6)
PHI (13-3)
MIN (13-3)
PIT (13-3)
LAR (11-5)

Thursday games should never have gone beyond having the 2 Thanksgiving games and the season opener. As for the idea of having only teams coming off of their bye weeks, there's two problems with that; 1. how would they manage that when the Thursday games system currently lasts all season, and 2. Having teams play on Thursdays following bye weeks is still rushing teams back 3-4 days earlier than they would be with traditional Sunday/Monday games. Thus, the logical thing to do would be to just get rid of them except for the 3 exceptions I named above. But the NFL will never consider reeling them back in as long as there's more money to be made from weekly Thursday night games than an extra Sunday game.

What I don't understand is someone thinking games with penalty flags ever other play was a good idea.

But those teams already have had a huge advantage by playing at home on a very short week where the other team needs to travel.

I to hate the Thursday Night games, it's a money grab. But as long as we keep watching the message will never be delivered.
