Vernon Davis would have needed a PR TEAM surrounding him at the podium if this would have happened in years 1-3 in his career. He's still an awful speaker when asked to discuss things in detail, but it would have been a PR nightmare years ago with him at his own podium for a WHOLE hour (NFL rule).

Talking about Harbaugh is great. Talking about what Kaep brings to the table is great, especially the things that he does that no one else here had done for the last 10 years. Talk about Harbaugh's decision will get tiring for me. Talk about Kaep! We've moved on from Smith and are beyond the decision. The better Kaep is, the less of a decision it was, just his knowledge on the QBs.

In other words, I'm ok with talk on how and why he is better than Smith. I'm tired of talk on the decision. I'm excited for the good things they have to say about Kaep, not the conclusions they make about Smith. They chose Kaep because he gave us a better chance to win it, and he did. It would have been hard to win the Packers game, but we would have with Smith. I'm not confident about this game - if we were down 17-0 with Smith, I say it's a loss. If it would have been 10-7 instead because of a better, slower first drive, then I don't know. Kaep was the man today and he's better than Smith, who wouldn't have done what Kaep did today.
