I am not so sure. Tom Hardy might sweep the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards this year (for Legend and Revenant)

Hardy isn't even getting nominated for best actor. I doubt he's even in top 10 to be honest.

And sadly he won't win for Revenant(definitely deserves this as well as a few others). I'm thinking spotlight snags a best supporting actor.

Nope. Heard movie was pretty shitty but that Hardy was insanely good.

But I think the 5 noms are almost guaranteed to be Leo, Fassenbender, Redmayne, Damon/Hanks/Depp(two of them). With Cranston kinda next in line.

Hated DiCrappio for the longest time until I saw him in Django. I started to turn the corner a bit with that one. I still wish I had the time back I invested in Shutter Island!!!

I'll watch this movie because I think he's finally growing as an actor.

While I think he did a good job, my personal opinion is Tom Hardy did the best acting in that movie.

Totally agree with Schmoopy.

When I watched the movie I didn't even realize that it was Tom Hardy. At the end of the movie I turned to the guys I was watching it with and stated basically what Schmoopy said above: That Leo did a good job of acting, but the guy playing his antagonist was even better, really excellent. When I found out it was an English guy doing that Southern accent I was even more impressed.

I don't go to movies anymore because most all movies push an agenda. But I was dying to see this one. Even though I cannot stand Leo's do as I say not as I do philosophy. And sure enough, the bad guy was the white guy praising the lord.

I think Leo did very well in it. I also agree that Hardy did a BETTER job.

But I dont think Leo won because of the "Bear Scene". I think he won because he is Leo and he has been close a bunch of time before this. Not to take anything away from his performance here, though.

I agree Tom stole the show for me. Leo was good but didn't really have that many lines if I recall. Just a bunch of screaming and squealing.
