whats your take on this syndergaard kid?

Live arm, huge talent, may have maturity issues. Supposedly David Wright had a few choice words for him during spring training about being a pro. They've been talking him up big time for 2 years now since acquiring him. Mets fans are stoked. Curious to see him go out there myself. The Mets AAA team is in Vegas and the place is a launching pad so it's hard to look at numbers and get a real idea.

Yep, seem to have hit the jackpot with arms, after all those years of drafting high. Like I said, if only we had some good defense other than Lagares; the up-the-middle guys suck in the infield. Reuben Tejada is better with the glove than Wilmer Flores, he just can't hit. Herrera seems okay with the glove but still a rookie, and we know Daniel Murphy can hit but can't catch a cold.

what do you think of familia as a closer?

He has looked solid so far. And he was the third or fourth option to close in Spring. I don't think he's going to go 42-0 or anything, and he's gotten a lot of early save chances because the offense has been so mediocre. He seems to have good command and can hit 99.

If Parnell ever comes back, I say make him the 8th inning guy and leave Familia at closer.

Everybody started out lousy last week. Shocked that I did so well on the weekend, because I had to make all my picks early in the day on Friday.

Well, actually, I'm not shocked...I seem to do better when i don't really put any effort into it. Plus, I got helped out by the Reds/White Sox double-header.
