The Record!!!!

Didn't the A's set the record but lost in the first round of the postseason to the Minnesota Twins. So to quote the great Billy Beane it means nothing if you don't win the last game of the series.

But the Indians blew a 3-1 lead....

:wash:

Yep, with half of a rotation and without their best player lol. Surprised they made it that far last year. Injuries could fuck them this year too. It's pretty unbelievable they got this streak with 3 starters in their lineup out, Salazar and their best reliever. Francona is the man!

I'm just giving a Cleveland fan some shit as payback for all the 3-1 jokes about the Warriors.

But really...

A record is a record. This has nothing to do with the postseason. 8 shutouts in 21 games, outscored their opponents by 104 runs. Only 3 1-run games. Crazy

I think even you don't believe the shit the comes out of your mouth. That record could stand forever

Yes and it is a cool thing but you don't play the game to have streaks during the regular season, object of any sport is to win the Championship, nothing else honestly matters. Second place is just the last team to lose... Unless you are one of those everyone gets a trophy people who have ruined the country!

Not necessarily true. Each team has different realistic goals. If the Browns win their division and lose in the first round of the playoffs and Kizer wins the OROY, I would say that would be quite a successful season for them. As a fan, you have to be able to look at your team with some sort of optimism, or else you will drive yourself crazy.

Now, the Indians were in the WS last year, so while this record is nice, it will pale in comparison to winning a championship.

This has nothing to do with the playoffs. This is a great accomplishment in itself. The MAIN goal for Indians is to win it all but a great record is still a record and amazing in itself

Will I be disappointed if they don't win it all...hell yes!

If this streak would have happened to the Phillies or some shit team it would be even more amazing bc their expectstions were so low this year but for any team it is insane. I mean the Indians players have already said, "yeah it's great but that isnt our goal"

While it's nice to achieve personal or team goals it literally doesn't mean shit because if you don't win eventually then it was for nothing. So yeah I guess it's not realistic for some teams to win the Championship but it is still all that matters...

Which is my point, nobody gives a fuck that the Caps win the President's trophy or that Ovi scores 50 goals, without a Championship it means zero!
