Crosby reached 100 points Tuesday with an assist, making him the eighth player in NHL history with five 100-point seasons before his 27th birthday, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

Anyone want to guess the others? I got 6 out of 7, missed on one of them (I guessed Bossy who just missed, he turned 27 in January of his 5th 100 point season).

Gretzky
Lemieux
Hawerchuk
Kurri
Yzerman
Orr
Jagr

would be my guess. Although I have my doubts about Jags.

You got 6, missed the same guy that I did. And yes, Jagr is the incorrect one.

What about Selanne and Brett Hull?

Both of them started their careers too late to have a real shot at it. Hull had 4 in a row but only 2 of them were before his 27th birthday. Selanne has the same, 4 total and 2 before his 27th. He was injured and missed the last half of his second season and then ran into the shortened lockout season in his third.

Gotta be someone you wouldn't normally think of like Luc Robitaille.

OOH! Maybe Sakic.

Like I said he just barely missed, he turned 27 on January 22nd of his 5th 100 point season. Not sure when he crossed the 100 point threshold that season but he probably just missed by 6 weeks or so.

Nick Bjugstad ends the year as Florida's leading scorer with 38 points -- the lowest point total to ever lead an NHL team following a full 82-game schedule.

Scott Pellerin led the expansion Minnesota Wild with 39 points in 2000-01 despite ending the season with the Carolina Hurricanes.

wow. a list of defensemen who start in their own zone a lot, and their respective abilities to turn it into offensive opportunities.
Panoof gets hemmed in a lot

:fify:

Truth is he's just not a "shut-down" defenseman, but he's been forced into that role (basically after Beauchemin was dealt). He shouldn't be seeing so many defensive-zone faceoffs against top competition in the first place.
