Love mmyyyyy Coffee...........

how do you guys make your coffee?
Any favorite brands?
Any favorite types, beans, roasts, regions etc?
Grind your own beans?

I have a keurig, french press, and good drip pot

I use a bodum bistro grinder

I prefer light roasts, like indonesian beans, kenya beans, mexico, and to a lesser extent columbian

My coffee consumption is similar to my beer consumption in the sense that, while I enjoy the good stuff, I simply drink too much of it to justify being too extravagant. I make due with the old Mr. Coffee and a big container of Folgers. Drink it black.

I need to get a coffeegrinder again.. had one back years ago and, agree, there's nothing quite like it.

Plain ol' Mr. Coffee pot for me and a bag of ground whatever's-on-sale 'gourmet' stuff, and either M.H. or Folgers for just maintenance everyday stuff (and yeah, I know, they're not outstanding.. they just serve the purpose of getting the eyes cracked at the start of the day).

Haven't done the Keurig press yet. What are your feelings on it as opposed to a regular coffeemaker?

And what about percolators? I don't have one but I knew someone who did and I really liked how hot the coffee stayed. Anyone use those on a regular basis?

well theres a keurig, and a french press.......two totally different things...........and the keurigs make decent brew quickly........especially if you use your own beans.......you can brew better, not not as fast and easy

I use Arabica whole beans from Columbia, Grind them each day, use a plain Mr. Coffee and ALWAYS use bottled water as a person can have the best of everything and if uses tap water, all bets are off.

I'm a dark roast guy. I bought a french press in February or March and I haven't used my Keurig since (if anyone wants it I'll sell it to you for $30 plus shipping). I buy this local brand called Anodyne, and it's my favorite coffee by far. They roast the beans just a few miles from my place.

For me coffee is a utility beverage. I usually reach for the cheap-ass store brand stuff. When I drink coffee I'm usually dragging ass half asleep so expensive tasty stuff would be wasted on me for the most part.

I do enjoy the occasional cup of the good stuff though. My wife brings home some local, organic, yada yada yada stuff that we have from time to time. I don't recall the brand but I certainly notice that I'm not drinking that cheap crap when I have it.

I'm with TDs3 and Tac...I like good stuff when I can get it, but otherwise I'm using cheap espresso grounds like Caribe or Bustelo. They have a little more kick than the Folgers or Maxwell House. I used to grind Kirkland Sig beans every morning, but with kids we just don't have the time to do all that fancy stuff.

We do have a programmable auto-drip maker, though, so it goes off right before we get up. That's a real time saver.
