Guess it's free agency hunting if they wanna come anywhere close to being a contender at all in the next 3-4 years.

Disagree.

The Braves lost 1 prospect inside of their top 20. Yes it hurts the system depth however I don't think this is a death sentence. They do need to address some positions in free agency as does every team. I fully believe the rebuild is still on track.

I was actually curious if the loss of depth makes them go more all in for the next few seasons. knowing that you just lost a solid amount of reasonable depth anyway. I'm curious how they end up filling out their minor league rosters and dominican league teams.

Maitan is a huge loss. Anytime you lose 13 prospects, that pushes you back. Whether it's a year or 5 years, the Atlanta Braves are now behind the 8-ball and don't have a very clear or bright future at this point.

And they got Soto for just under a mil.

They’re gonna take a while to develop, but it’s a good start.

Or they’re both traded by August to help get trout back to the playoffs lol.

Maitan turned out to be a bit overrated in his first year of minor league ball.

Too small of a sample size to judge imo, and he was also incredibly young in 2017, even for that league (Appalachian League average age is 20 wheras he was 17, and he was the only everyday player under 18).
