I do somewhat recall them having some close games... guess I missed those details in the end-game roundup. Do SEC folks figure them to compete for the title or are the usual suspects still more likely?

LSU/Dawgs/Fla/Auburn/Miss... Bama of course.

They're my favorite to win the SEC East. Improved play from their QB Dobbs is a must. His QBR of 127 ranked 8th in the SEC last year. It's my belief that a QB needs to be 140+ to play winning football. Matt Flynn of LSU is the only QB in recent memory to not play at that level and still win an SEC Championship.

I been saying for years they should wait until week 4 to even do rankings. It stops an over ranked team losing 3 of first 7 and still in top 25 when an undefeated is sitting at 26.

No rankings at all until after week 4 games, where most teams are beyond their tune-up games, unless you are Alabama who have them spread out before the LSU game. Sorry, could not help myself

TCU and Baylor are both overrated IMO. Houston may very well be the best in Texas this year.

But the rusty cows and agnuts haven't done anything to deserve a top 25 rating IMO.

Iowa is often that team that doesn't live up to expectations. They either were one of the most overrated preseason teams or one of the most underrated teams. Hopefully, they break the mold this year.
