From this Mariners fan, thank you for giving everything you had for 15 long years.

Watching you walk off the mound for the final time brought back so many great memories, and also resentment toward the Mariner front office for never putting a good team around you so you could have the post season experience you busted your ass for over so many years to try and make happen. You and the fans deserved way better.

However, watching you in your prime was something else and one of the very few bright spots in the last 18 years of Mariners baseball. I will miss it, and I wish him the best in life after baseball.

For the love of the game.

Absolute shame we never got to see him in the postseason. Fantastic pitcher in his prime and a real workhose. He threw 8+ innings in 16 of his 34 starts in 2010. It could be a long time before you see a starting pitcher do that again.

A shame that his last few years likely ruined any shot he had at the hall and obviously that the franchise could never put a team around him in his prime. None the less it was always fun to see greatness every 5 days and thats what it was for a decent amount of time.

I thought he was going to be a true great. He fell apart as fast as Mauer.

I know he's said he wants to keep playing, but honestly I hope he retires so he's a Mariner forever.

Yet another HOF level talent wasted on the decaying shipwreck known as the Mariners. Too bad he never escaped like Griffey and Randy Johnson.

In all fairness, it's not as if Griffey went to greener pastures...the Reds never made the playoffs with him and had some bad years.
