Solak should start the year playing 2B for Nashville.

should.....

but will probably be added to the major league roster in some utility role where he will hardly get any AB’s.

solak might be trade bait going forward. JD doesn’t like having any alternatives or threats to odor in the organization so when odor stinks it up, the front office can shrug their shoulders and say we have nobody else. While they hope in vain for him to turn it around.

on and on we go.

Who is going to back up Andrus at SS?
Any chance we sign Jordy Mercer? I hope we do. Or maybe bring in Tim Beckham

Getting Frazier was the safe move but really interested how Solak fits in. Maybe he does got to AAA to work on defense. We got Jung and Apostel a couple years away

Castellanos would be nice. He’s got 25 homerun power and hits a ton of doubles.
Has had an OPS over .800 for 4 years in a row. He would be an awesome addition to our lineup.

1. Choo-DH
2. Andrus-SS
3. Castellanos- 1B
4. Gallo-RF
5. Santana-CF
6. Calhoun-LF
7. Frazier-3B
8. Odor- 2B
9. Chirinos-C

not a bad lineup.. plenty of power..
not the best defensive team in the world but it would be pretty damn solid overall.

Still think we need to pick up a utility guy who can play SS..

Solak looks like a Profar all over again. Can't mess with the big O.

Solak fits in by making it obvious that JD is a hopeless case. Him not being able to fit in is the key.

I just wish they’d put odor at 8th and leave him there if he’s going to play.

Odor has as good a chance to be a better hitter than Elvis. No way I start Elvis near the top of the lineup. Let him earn it.

I dont know though
That might be their plan

I still feel this way about Odor and the Front Office.

I think if he starts next year then he us locked in for at least 3 more years if not more. The reason I say that is because we have 2 guys ready to replace him right now. If that doesn't cause management to make a switch I am not sure what will. I doubt we will have another candidate with a season like Solak has just had anytime in the next few years. I think Odor has a starting job at 2B for the duration of his contract as long as he has one or two great months each year. I will wait this offseason out and see what happens, but when he keeps that starting job on Opening Day next year, I will officially give up on upper management altogether.

Would not have expected otherwise. I think the manager has some input re Odor though. He evidently thinks he has bought in to the approach he regressed from in ST.

I like woodward otherwise, but I think he’s too nice to odor.

odor must have a great personality / charisma to have 2 different managers behind him and the full fledged support of the front office because his on the field results don’t stand up on their own.

How long are some of you going to beat a dead horse.
As long as I am Rangers fan, I am not going to back down on a major problem within our front office. This particular situation points out a huge flaw with our upper management . Management that is that flawed will make other critical mistakes as well, and has. You may view it as a dead horse, but I view it as an unmistakable symptom of a sick franchise. It is a sickness that will keep us from winning a championship. To me, an honest discussion about where we are headed as a franchise cannot be complete without addressing such a huge problem.

To me it is an elephant in the room that some folks are ignoring. Sure it gets old. I wish we would get our problems corrected so they are fixed and not so I don't have to hear about them any longer. Correcting it would accomplish both of those goals though. Correction deals with much more than who plays 2B. Correction deals with fixing upper management.

What do they say about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?
