Damn. Ballsy call by Kansas to go for it. Receiver got away with some serious facemask but oh well.

I don't know if it's just placement of the mics, but that's a quiet stadium.

Defense A++ (again)
offense D+
Special Teams D+

Week after Week. It will be the same thing over and over.

I feel bad for the Defense.
They have played their asses off all season.
They never get any rest. They give up some yardage because they are always on the field.

TEXAS might have to win games 13-9 all season.

Texas literally is not going to be able to score any points unless the defense sets them up in the redzone.

I don't think the defense will hold against the rest of the teams we play this year. Well, maybe ISU. The offense needs to get something going for sure. I want to say that I'm confident they will, but that would be a huge lie.

Other than that one half versus BYU, the defense is looking like a Charlie Strong signature.

And frankly that half was just the defense quitting altogether after the offense kept turning it over.
The defense had had enough....and just said fuck it.....

As long as the offense can at least muster a PUNT (rather than a turnover), Texas will win some unexpected games.

The offense doesn't need to do much. Just don't freaking turn it over.

As for the special teams......that deserves a coaching change.

Texas cannot overcome both bad offense and bad special teams with DEFENSE alone.

You missed I guess what is now the Texas identity.

The offense is going to be very vanilla and ultra safe.
The defense will eventually force turnovers for them.
And the offense will use the short fields to get their points.

It can work, but there is zero margin for error.

The special teams needs to stop screwing up things (Flags, missed XP, missed coinflips, long returns, roughing kickers).

If the Specials are neutral AND the offense doesn't commit turnover.
I think they can surprise either Baylor or Oklahoma.

But any fuckup by the Specials or Offense, and it is all over.

I'm just wondering, if maybe the red shirt should come of Heard? But then again, you have to have someone to throw to. I did see one part of one replay, where Johnson had beat his man deep, by at least five steps, and Swoopes overthrew him. Would have been a 70 or so yard TD.

I dont know. I wouldnt mind winning games 15-7, if that included the big offenses of Baylor and Oky. But that is not possible. This team has to find some offense, fast.

and I hate to say fans have to wait, but there is this QB Zach Gentry, a 4 star who has committed to Texas. He played last night, ran for over 200 yard, threw for about 300 and 5-6 TDs, and beat the best team in the state in OT.

He's 6-7 and is pretty good. I dont know, just something I'm holding on to...

I don't think the offense is INEPT for its overall theory.
I actually applaud Charlie for establishing an identity and not waivering.

But, the talent is simply not there this season.
They get a D+ grade for simply not having enough talent this year.
There is nothing Texas can do midseason about that part.

The Specials gets their poor grades for simply being horrible and stupid.
That needs to end tomorrow. There is no excuse for stupidity every week at special teams.
That can be corrected immediately.

Give the offensive line a full year of weight training and some wheelbarrows of food.
I think they will get a lot better as they get experience and gain weight.

I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

The OL is the problem with the offense. If Swoopes is given time, he's fairly good. This line has to be able to open holes for Brown and Gray......if they can do that, we can hang with anyone in this conference.

Problem is, I don't think we have the talent to do that on the OL.
