Well, there was this one kid that wanted to play QB, but was told he would only be a DB. What ever happened to him.

Now the question is, was JFF good or did sumlin invent him?

Michigan had a running back playing QB, now they have a wide receiver. At least they are looking for people who are actually quarterbacks to play.

He won a Heisman, but that's about it.....0 conference titles, 0 NC's, 0 BCS bowls. Awesome individual award though.....

Yeah, and NO OTHER COACHES except ONE let him play QB. You really need to find some new, HONEST material. RG3 went to the ONLY COACH that offered him as a QB

Yeah, thats all he did, win the most prestigious award in college football. He had nothing to do with A&M getting a ridiculous amount of media coverage, raising millions of dollars, bringing a new level of excitement to the fans, and making A&M a place recruits want to go. He didn't do all of that by himself, but he sure helped.

Texas hasn't had a QB since 09, this is just 1 case where they missed on a solution to one of their biggest problems.

And don't even pretend that you longhorns wouldn't have been just as excited about what Manziel did on the field as Aggies were.

I would say its mostly Manziel but Sumlin did have some influence. Seeing what Sumlins system is and how Manziel's play is vastly different than any of Sumlin's past or current QBs, I would say it's more of Manziel.

Charlie Strong needs to change up the game plan big time this weekend and let Swoopes air it out. Yea, it might not work perfectly but it could (a) take some heat off the running backs who will need the defense loosened up, (b) he might actually complete some long passes and (c) UT has got to find a way to keep the O on the field to give the D a breather. If Swoopes isn't given that opportunity, or he tries and doesn't have at least some success throwing the ball down the field, it's going to a long day for the Horns.

Really? Texas has had lots of QBs, they just haven't been able to play as well as needed or expected of them.

If you had bothered to qualify QB with an adjective, your statement might have had more validity. smh

... and an inept QB, Case, beat your school's team, which was their last Big 12 game. Of course, you guys probably don't accept that since they had already removed the Big 12 logo from their jerseys.

Oh, Charlie.

Would you have been happier if I would have said “Texas hasn’t had a QB worth a dry pile of Bevo crap since 09.” The QB play at Texas has sucked since then you even admit it in your post. You have nothing to argue my point except grammar and a game from 3 years ago that Texas was lucky to win.

That situation sounds eerily similar to what happened to us under Bill Stewart. He was let go for the same reason.

HUH??

Stew had
1 year of Pat White (SR)
1 year of Jarrett Brown (5thyr SR)
2 years of Geno Smith

All three were at least halfway decent if not good.

Stew was canned because he couldn't top 9 wins in that Gawd awful BE. He inherited a Porsche and turned it into a Geo Prism.

 Sucks when a sucky QB ran your even more sucky team out of the Big 12 with a loss, doesn't it?
