Dude's mechanics were impeccable. I have no idea what he's talking about.

as a lowly raider fan I hope he develops and takes over eventually...I will admit though through training camp last year most of the beat writers that cover the raiders have criticized his mechanics...last year they said his throws were very wobbly compared to carson palmer...I like the guy but don't think he has shot of winning job this year

I don't believe it. I can't see him winning the starting job even though it is the Raiders. You don't become a mechanically sound passer in one offseason. It just doesn't happen that way.

I didn't know they got Wilson and McGloin.

Regardless, I think Flynn wins it, but you never know with the Rrraiders!

Anyone who has ever seen him throw before knew that his mechanics were awful. The fact that he never learned probably has more to do with his unwillingness to be taught than it does his instructors.

The question has never been about his toolbox as an athlete, he has all the tools required to be a hall of fame QB. The questions are:

1. Does he have the smarts to identify the right reads instantly in a pro style drop back environment?

2. Does he have the discipline to train/study to maximize the physical and mental skills required to not only flourish, but just survive at the next level?
