What is sad about that is, I think, 5-6 of those 8 losses are Iowa teams that were clearly better.

2000 - Iowa went 3-9, ISU went 9-3 and finished #25. ISU was clearly better.
2001 - Both teams went 7-5. Was a 3pt game.
2002 - Iowa went 11-2 and finished #8, ISU was 7-7. Iowa was clearly better.
2005 - Both went 7-5. ISU destroyed Iowa 23-3.
2007 - Iowa went 6-6 and ISU went 3-9. Iowa was better.
2011 - Iowa went 7-6 and ISU went 6-7.
2012 - Iowa went 4-8 and ISU went 6-7. ISU was clearly better. Only time since Ferentz 1st 2 seasons ISU had a better record.
2014 - Iowa went 7-6 and ISU went 2-10. Iowa was clearly better.

3 years ISU was clearly the better team.

If Iowa did not lose to ISU in 2002, it would be interesting to see who would have been in the NCG. Both dominated their opponents. They faced the same tough teams in conference. Ohio State did face a tough Washington State team though.
