I remember the same thing happened back in 1992. Duke was playing at Charlottesville and stunk it up all game. They were ranked #1 but were 2 point dogs at Virginia. Laettner hit a three to cut it to one. Back then the clock didn't stop so Laettner grabs John Crotty holding the ball out of bounds. They called a foul as time expired. UVA won the game. But Lenny Wertz, ref at the time, goes into the locker room and gets Crotty to come back out so he could shoot free throws and cover that spread. That shit actually happened.
