Yeah no bargain but he took less to come here which is good. Celts have so much headroom they can still sign one if not two more stars.

Rebuild.

You clowns have been saying that for a fuckin decade.

Danny Ainge is the laughing stock of American professional sports.

This contract is another albatross in a long line of bullshit contracts.

LOL @ a once-proud franchise in utter disgrace. :L

I like how Logic says "youth" as if any of the Celtic draft picks are getting any better. The Lakers have youth, the Celtics have draft misses.

When do NBA players actually sign these contracts? The Hawks front office deciding to pull a Clippers go all out with a max offer tomorrow would only make this offseason even more fun.

Better deal for Atlanta though with Howard coming cheaper and the better true Center.

I dont understand why Horford would take 26 million less and 1 less year to play for a team that will have to use him more and likely still be worst than the Hawks unless KD signs. Add in the cheaper taxes in GA and the Hawks having one of the best medical staffs and move is just odd. Horford has wanted ATL to get another big so he could move out to PF some and they had that for him in Horward. The Celtics will be sticking him right into the same situation he was in with the Hawks before.

Basically he's no closer to a title and getting paid less. I guess if his girl has family there with a baby on the way it's sort of going home but his agent cant be happy he left so much money on the table. Another day and the Hawks likely inch up closer to that max offer.

Whoa -- someone doesn't like the Cs.

They are in a great spot. Other teams should be contacting them about a trade -- because Danny will have to move 1-2 guys in the frontcount now ... and probably a couple of the recent draft picks. This is a terrific signing -- they were in a good financial position before this -- they can afford it.

Whoever even said the words "Kelly Olynyk era" were stupid. (or the "Sullinger era" ...)

Yeah it's nice to see all these moves. And the friendly cap deals they have with AB IT and jae is looking like steals now.

I think the Celtics have a better coach, more complementary pieces, better upcoming draft picks and a better history & organization than the Hawks. I don't think having Dwight Howard on the team will help at all. (if they sign Horford -- they will probably have to move Millsap -- who I like a lot) I like the Celtics backcourt a lot more than the Hawks. The Hawks decided to go "all in" on Dwight -- which probably made Horford's decision much easier.

MDX. Hold tight as KD might be on your team next year I don't think he stays in OKC after next year.

Durant didn't even give Washington a meeting. You really think he's going to be in a Wizards uniform?

I think it is a very good pickup for Boston and maybe he will gel more with Boston but he is no star. He is an All-Star that averaged 15 and 7 last year. I still think Indiana, Toronto and Miami are just as good but Boston definitely improved, they needed a big.

Love averaged 16 and 8, is the 3rd option and got paid $20 mi. Horford was the 2nd option on option 1b, averaged basically what Love did and now he is getting paid $28 mil. Cleveland got a bargain but hopefully Horford works out bc he is the piece Boston needed. I still think they need one more big name to be a champioship contender though.
