He will opt out of his contract for next season. However, he has said many times that he wants to stay with the Lakers. The question will be at what kind of discount would he accept. He'll likely be able to get more money elsewhere than what the Lakers will be willing to pay him.

Was he a free agent after that season? He went from $2.6m (10-11) to $3.7m (11-12). He signed as a free agent in Philly in 12-13 for $5.6m. I'm guessing he was still under contract after the 10-11 season.

All while being highly allergic to defense and
playing for teams who were significantly better the prior year before he joined the roster.
