The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents approved a 2-year contract extension through Dec. 31, 2020 Thursday afternoon for Oklahoma coach [db]Bob Stoops[/db]. All other terms and conditions of the contract remain the same. Stoops will earn $4.55 million this year not including the performance bonuses listed below. With the extension, Stoops will earn $5.15 million in each of the final five years of his contract. He'll earn $44.8 million over the length of his new 9-year deal. Stoops originally signed a 7-year contract worth $34.5 million that ended on Dec. 31, 2018.

Co-champion or out-right champion of the Big 12 and earn automatic qualification for a BCS bowl

Participation in a non-BCS bowl -- $71,500.
Participation in a non-national title game BCS bowl -- $110,000.
Participation in the BCS National Championship bowl -- $165,000.
BCS national title win -- $275,000
For finishing in the BCS top 10 -- $82,500.
For finishing in the BCS top 20 -- $55,000.
For a graduation rate of 65 percent or better -- $44,000.
For a graduation rate of 75 percent or better -- $55,000.
For a graduation rate of 85 percent or better -- $66,000.
For a graduation rate of 100 percent -- $110,000.
Named Big 12 Coach of the Year -- $33,000.
Named Associated Press National Coach of the Year -- $66,000
